Guidance on Legislation Help and guidance on the interpretation of any legislation affecting Building Employers, for example members frequently submit points on Acts and Regulations dealing with Housing, Town Planning, New Street, Companies and Partnerships, Public Utilities, Nation Insurance, Building Regulations, Rating Valuation, Contracts of Employment, Redundancy Payments.

Contract Conditions The JCT Standard Forms are negotiated by the Building Employers Confederation through the Joint Contracts Tribunal. The Scottish Supplements are issued under the aegis of the Scottish Building Contract Committee on which we are represented. The Committee also publish Standard Forms of Sub-Contract.

CDM Regulations It is the intention of the Association to provide advisory information and assistance in their experience of the current legislation and implementation of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994, and Company Health and Safety Data in view of the necessity for all companies to implement same within their own organisation.

Apprenticeship Training and Registration of Operatives. Advice and assistance on all matters affecting the recruitment, selection and training of apprentices including rates of pay, conditions of employment, discipline, attendance at technical classes, Construction Industry Training Board Grants, Levies, etc. Close liaison is maintained with Colleges of Further Education.

Safety Through its safety reporting the NSCC provides a forum for the expression of opinion on building safety and publicises courses in Safety Training which are organised at various centres.

Building Advisory Services The Building Advisory Service is available to all members for advice in a wide range of management problems with the object of increasing industrial efficiency and reducing costs.

Government Discussions Full recognition is given of your views in the top level discussions which take place through the various Consultative Bodies of the Industry.
